PUBLIC MEETING CALLED FOR WIND FARM OPPOSITION
Residents in the
Ceiriog Valley opposed to the proposal to erect three giant wind turbines at
Cefn Coed, overlooking the valley, have called a public meeting to form an
action group to co-ordinate the opposition campaign.
The meeting will
take place at The Oliver Jones Memorial Hall, Dolywern, on Wednesday 26th June
at 7.30 pm. All Ceiriog Valley
residents opposed to the siting of the turbines and interested in the formation
of an action group are being invited to attend.
Kieran Lawford, of
Pontfadog, an interim spokesperson for the resident’s opposition group
said: “This is not a meeting to discuss
the issues for or against wind power.
It is purely for residents in the valley opposed to the siting of these
massive 91 mtr (298 feet) high turbines at Cefn Coed to elect a group of people
to act as their voice and represent their views.”
Opposition to the
turbine development has already prompted Wrexham CBC Planning Department to
extend the deadline for objections from 17th June to 8th July.
